Alison Winchester is a mixed media textile artist based in Bulli NSW Australia.

As a child Alison was in awe of the environment around her constantly picking up sand, soil, rocks and leaves, exploring how she could interact with her surroundings. This tactile playful nature continued into adulthood and has informed her art process today.

Alison has been involved with Canberra Glassworks to create and design beautiful delicate glass sculptures, inspired by the environment that Alison lives in. Alison has a strong focus on the felting process and wearable arts.

Growing up with family who ran a farm in Yass NSW Australia, Alison was fascinated with thousands of sheep wandering on the farm.

This curiosity gave birth as an adult to the desire of using her childhood memories and working with her brothers now sheep farm at Braidwood NSW Australia which combined two different worlds to create her passion for Alisons Wool ART today.

The wool from her brother’s sheep farm is a highlight in many of Alison’s artworks and displays the way in which she explores the natural environment around her, and how we can inter-relate with it sustainably.

Alison currently works from her art studio at The Timbermill in Bulli NSW Australia.
